History of Karkardooma Court
The Karkardooma Court Complex was inaugurated on 15 May 1993 by the then Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, Justice G. C. Mittal. Initially, courts functioning in the Shahdara area were shifted to this newly developed complex.
The court complex was developed because the increasing population of East Delhi and nearby regions created heavy pressure on existing district courts in Delhi. The new complex helped improve judicial accessibility for residents living in eastern parts of the city.
According to official district court records, the construction of the present building was completed during 1997–98. It became one of the most modern operational district court buildings in Delhi at that time.
